Delicious Asian recipes you can make on a budget

There’s no denying that Australia has an extraordinary range of fantastic Asian restaurants. A few clicks online and you can even have a range of mouthwatering dishes delivered right to your door. But sometimes, there’s nothing better than creating your own taste of Asia with your bare hands from your very own kitchen. Here are some easy asian recipes you can cook from the comfort of your home.

Shrimp Fried Rice
This is a simple, healthy dish you can make in 30 minutes. Packed with vegetables, it is perfect for a mid-week dinner.

All you need are some prawns, eggs, canola oil, fresh ginger, Amoy Golden Label Light Soy Sauce, brown rice and assorted vegetables. You can play around with your own combination of vegetables and even swap the prawns out for tofu depending on your dietary preferences and what you already have in the house.

Thai Chicken Saute
No list of asian recipes would be complete without some form of sautéed chicken. Preparing this recipe with pre-cooked rice will take a matter of minutes but the end result will be as flavoursome and satisfying as if you’d spent hours in the kitchen.

The full recipe is available here but the basic ingredients you need are Sunrice Long Grain Rice, chicken breast tenders, cornstarch, fishSauce, canola oil, onions, minced garlic, ground fresh ginger,Aroy-d coconut milk, Aroy-d Sriracha, sugar, limes and coriander.

This particular recipe is hot and spicy but can be adapted for those who can’t handle the heat.

Pad Thai
Another staple asian recipe is Pad Thai. Found at the top of the menu in most Thai restaurants, this is a worldwide favourite comfort food.

This particular recipe only takes 15 minutes to cook with an additional 5 minutes of prep time. It can be made with prawns, chicken or tofu depending on your dietary requirements.

The basic ingredients required are chicken, prawns or tofu, pad thai noodles, peanut (or vegetable) oil, shallots, garlic, ginger, fish sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, Healthboy Thin Grade 1 Soy Sauce and chilli flakes. The optional garnish also requires bean sprouts, chilli flakes, chopped scallions, roasted peanuts and lime.
